Defining Cheekbones in Photography Using V-Flats (Video)

In today's short video, Tuvy shows us how to add definition to a model’s cheekbones and jawline. The technique involves using two V-Flats to enhance these facial features.

Using the White Side of the Reflector

First, Tuvy uses the white side of the V-Flats as reflectors. This side bounces light softly onto the model’s face, gently highlighting the cheekbones. This method provides a natural enhancement, adding dimension without being too intense.

Switching to the Black Side

Next, he switches to the black side of the V-Flats. Positioned closer to the model, this side creates deeper shadows. This contrast accentuates the contours of the cheekbones and jawline, giving the face a more sculpted look.

This technique effectively enhances the natural shape of the model’s face, adding a professional touch to the photography.
