It is quite clear that V-Flats are amazing light weight, small footprint light modifiers. But what is not mentioned enough in my opinion is how transportable they are. All V-Flats come standard in their own moisture and dust resistant zip-lock bag and FREE cotton carrying tote! Set up in a make shift studio is super easy with the black and white hook & loop connectors, and once set up, they are easily moved due to their manageable weight. Shipping is fast and packing is very secure and the customer service department is quick to respond and very helpful. I am looking forward to using these boards in many of my shoots.

Nothing quite like a huge white wall for bounce. This provides that wall wherever you go--and in a very transportable package. Love it!

Amazing customer support!

The ability to add in the light and subtract the light with this product is great, but I find the set up is extremely difficult. I have a small studio, and I am also short. I watched the videos and the guys make it look so simple, but at 5'1", its not that easy. The velcro does not hold tight either. There is always a gap between the 2 sides. I have an older black/white one (maybe 3 months old, and 1 newer one. The newer one seems better made than the previous. Not really happy with the products. Its also way too pricey.

Elegant self contained solution for fill, block out or a quick walk. Sized to fold and fit in my SUV for location work. Includes a carry bag with handles that fit over the shoulder.

I have made my own v flats for years. I decided to buy the v flat to make transporting easier. It works great as a reflector but requires too much editing post to remove the seams when used as a backdrop .The Velcro barely holds it together and it pops apart when I move or reposition the v flat. Would love it if you came up with a solution for that

The v-flat arrived and I put it right to use shooting a number of headshots. Usually I use a fill light, but the v-flat added the perfect amount of fill reflected from the key. The shots came out great! Setup was a breeze and the product is very well designed… including the carry bag. Now I want to get some smaller panels for my tabletop/product photography.

Love the v-flat. I had made one with cheap stuff but it didn't last very long, so I sought out the real deal. Very worth it.

I still need to practice a little more, I feel it’s a great investment for anyone that wants to improve their business.

As a content creator who needs to be constantly producing new content, I love the effortlessness of my v-flat. It is so much better than the cumbersome pieces of foam core that I used to use, which constantly fell over and were hard to work with. I have been using my v-flat almost daily, and it has made my life so much easier! Thank you so much!

Although I like the concept it keeps toppling over which defeats the purpose. This needs weighted legs that can be attached to keep it in place. Also when stored , I thought I could fold it so that the black side is showing but only folds so that the white side is showing. As a result I have to keep it in its bag so I don’t have this obnoxiously bright white thing in my living room.

I like the idea of this backdrop but 2 factors really let it down for me: 1. Its just 4 large pieces of foamcore board taped together, so I do not know why its $200.00. 2. Because its foamcore board, it dents EXTREMELY easily. Mine arrived with a nice dent and its unfixable. That being said, its nice to shoot with. I do not dislike using it, the quality is just pretty underwhelming for the big price.

I ordered a v-flat because most of the photographers I admire utilizes them. I’ve always wondered how their images were very contrasted. It was my first time using it, I loved it!

The v flat worked wonderful and was packaged well, there were a few compression marks on arrival but way less than expected given the nature of the material

Great way to add fill light for portraits!

I bought my first black and white foldable v flat and loved it so much I had to purchase a second one. It arrived quickly but when I opened it, I found it to be damaged. I called customer service to ask how I could get a new one and they sent me on free of charge! It arrived 2 days later in perfect condition! Your customer service is amazing and on top of that, the v flat is an amazing product. I'm using it as a backdrop to shoot models wearing my jewelry and love the way the backdrop plays such a part in allowing the model and product to take center stage. Highly recommended to anyone who is looking to create their own photo studio!

It is a great idea, but mine arrived somewhat warped. I have yet to get them to seal properly. There is always light leaking through. I really wanted to love them, but they are just meh... They will do in a pinch, but I was hoping they would be a go to for me moving forward.

Arrived in perfect condition (nice packaging). This is perfect for me to bounce my big light into so it can diffuse light for large (and soft) video shoots.

First v flat arrived, and sadly had some shipping damage. It wasn't to the degree of making the v flat unusable, but I shared the information with V Flat World just so they were aware (they pack these things superbly, it was not their fault it was slightly damaged). The product arrived scuffed in 2-3 places and the material/ v flat board pushed in, but generally is great and serves the purpose it’s supposed to serve. Also I guess with shipping this is something that you should expect, not always a perfect condition.

The product came with a sticky/dirty spot on it which now has to be photoshopped out if it’s in the frame. Overall it’s a great product, but a little disappointed in the dirty spot. I would assume the v-flats would be perfect for the amount of money you have to pay.

The panels are effectively foamcore with some Velcro and hinges but they’re super portable modifiers and useful for both my photography as well as video. Pretty happy with it overall!

Make sure to check the size before buying! It’s huge and not very well constructed. We do product photography and the V-Flat ended up being far too big for the small studio that we have. I contacted V-Flat World about returning or exchanging and they said they don’t’ accept returns. Extremely disappointing!

I am a traveling photographer this past weekend I used the V-Flat for the first time for an outdoor session and the photo came out as if I was inside a studio!

The V-Flat is an extremely versatile tool for any size studio, other than being perfect for fill light, it can also be used as a creative backdrop.

The V-Flat is great. It is easy to transport which is a big deal. Customer service is stellar. My first order arrived damaged and they immediately took care of it and shipped me a new one. Great comany and product all around.

I thought the product would be much more sturdy. It really doesn't come together seamlessly. There was also a piece of sticky adhesive on one side that will not come off. It's also not really workable in a small studio- just a bit too big. On location or a larger studio that aspect of issues will be solved. I also expected some sort of insert type feet at the bottom- so If I wanted to open both sides to one large flat piece I could. Not can't do that now without grip stands or 25 pound sand bags at the bottom to do it. I hope you guys make some of these improvements!

One of the corners was squashed, and the velcro that holds the two sides together isn't that strong. Sometimes the sides fall down when the velcro doesn't hold.

As a makeup artist I have worked countless studios, all using some form a V-flats. It did not take long to see the quality difference. Now that I am shooting again I knew exactly what equipment I wanted and would not settle for anything less than this amazing product. The versatility and stow and go features are perfect. I ordered a V-Flat which ultimately had a very rough delivery and arrived damaged. I reached out to V-Flat World asking how I could send it back for a replacement. I was told to keep it and they sent another. Excellent service! I have used the V-flat a couple of times so far for portraits and it makes taking pictures in a non-studio setting so much easier. I ordered two duo boards as well which I haven't had a chance to use quite yet, but they look amazing and I am anxious to try them out.

I love my portable V-flat. I bought this because I wanted to shoot against a white or black background. It's so much faster than setting up seamless paper. I bought this v-flat and it did have some marks on it. I contacted customer support and they shipped out a new v-flat right away. Their customer service is amazing! I love my V-flat and it saves me so much time. I highly recommend this product.

I would have given this 5 stars, but the V-Flat came crushed on the ends. I sent them an email about it and never heard back. Here is a tip V-Flat: place plastic triangle covers on the ends of V-Flat prior to shipping!

I initially gave a one star review, not because of the product, but because i received 2 out of 3 damaged in shipment. I have had an exchange of emails with V-Flat World and they have recognized some deficiencies and have offered me good solutions to overcome the problem. Adorama has also been good about addressing the problem and offering solutions. From both the manufacturer and the seller I have received acceptable solutions and a desire to please. A five star is a great rating but this five star is more meaningful based on the effort to satisfy me.

My V-Flats arrived sooner than expected and in perfect condition! They are easy to use, sturdy, and photograph beautifully. I am not the crafty type, so making my own is something I've tried and have not been successful with. These were the answer for me and well worth the investment. I photograph many different genres in my small studio so I don't have a lot of room for more "stuff". The fact that these fold up nicely and come with a protective bag make them so easy to store that it was almost a no-brainer.

I’m really loving how I can turn into a background, use it to fill shadow or add more shadows, and also as a changing room lol. I’m loving it.

I tried making a DIY v-flat but just became frustrated after a few attempts; none came out as solid as these. They are solid and well-assembled, but sure are pricey. I would have continued my DIY attempts if I had a smaller budget, as I'm sure many other photographers are doing after seeing the price of these.

They are easy to assemble and fit nicely in my car. The bag is super cute too!

I bought a pair of black/white V-Flats and I'm glad I did. I have used the white sides as reflectors to add a large, soft light source. I have used the black sides to increase contrast on my subjects. I have used them as large flags to control light contamination. I have used both the white and black sides as quick backgrounds for headshots. Folded, they fit nicely in my Toyota RAV4 and they come with a carrying bag that protects them, so I've been able to take them on location. And they store nicely behind my TV stand at home. My only complaint is the gap between the boards can be tricky to close when fully opened, but it's manageable.

These are excellent well made v-flats allowing you to bounce or restrict light and SO well made. The sale on the double set with the carry bags is an excellent deal. I know these can be made, but not like these. They will last a long time!

I had diy vflats that is made from foam core. They were bulky and took 2 people to set them up and tape together. I got so tired of this. I had been watching videos on v flats and decided to give it a go before Christmas when they went on sale. Oh my goodness! They are perfect! Easy to set up, with just me, have so many uses. I love them. Why did I wait so long? Absolutely the best product to enhance my lighting!

My wife knew I wanted these and bought them for me as a surprise gift and i love her for it. I work in a lot different environments and VFlats are one of the most useful and must have tools I use as a photographer. I have a set of two of the black & white V-Flats and use them on nearly every studio session. I use them as a backdrop on individuals and couples. They are also handy to reflect light on the shadow side of my clients, but I also use them to block off light. What I really like is that they are easy to fold up and store, when you need the room.

These Vflats allow me to have the look that I want when I go on location and not compromise with a shorter or narrower reflector that just doesn’t wrap light around the way vflats do. Even if I had a home studio, I wouldn’t go back to the styrofoam ones that fell apart and left pieces everywhere everytime you moved them. And they come with black carrying storage bags too!

These are perfect to take on location. They fold well. I love the carrying bags. I dinged mine on the first day....was very sad...but I guess they will function. This was because I underestimated the clearance at the site I was shooting. So sharing this for the rest of you to be extra careful. The customer service is amazing. The V Flat is a great value. This saved me a lot of time in trying to make one on my own. I also like the way it folds down and the added carrying case makes it easier to transport to an off-site location. I'm using it as a backdrop as well as a reflector in studio but can use it as a full body reflector for outdoor portraits. The only reason I give this product 4 stars instead of 5 is the white velcro tabs that are visible on the black side. I will need to cover these with gaffers tape or fix in post.

Pros: Fast Ship...Fast Arrival love that they fold. Love that they come with a bag that holds two sets. Love the Velcro and easy setup. Like The sturdy design. Cons: Don’t love the height. I understand the shipping savings, but too many clients are too tall for them to be used with the client standing. Don’t love that they arrived with dents and slightly messed up corners from shipping. I have a feeling these will show wear and tear quickily even from careful use. More pros than cons is my overall impression...just not perfect...especially for the money.

I absolutely LOVE my V-Flats! I wish I'd bought them both at the same time and saved some money but I started with one and quickly realized I wanted a second one. The set up is quick and I'm able to do it easily by myself. Sometimes I use one as a backdrop and one as a reflector, sometimes I use them both to make a larger backdrop to accommodate groups or to make a shooting cove with the black sides and concentrate my light. There are so many ways to use these in studio and out. When I use them on location, they are easy to transport and set up on site - much better (and faster) than lugging a backdrop stand and seamless paper! Great product!

First, the customer service is extraordinary. Going above and beyond to help me get my order on time. I was seriously impressed with how committed they were about ensuring my order was delivered and tracked. The product is solid. Easy to use and easy to move. It unfolds in seconds and is ready to go. The how to use videos online are spot on. Only thing I would add is a hardened protective edging to help prevent crunching the edges and corners. The provided carrying case makes it even more convenient to move and travel with. I put the whole box into the carrying case and put the vflat back into the box. Awesome product !!

I am an on-location portrait photographer. I used to carry those DIY large foam boards with me to my sessions. They would fill up a van size and so hard to carry around. When I saw V-flat it is a no brainer! I bought set of 2 immediately. They are folderable and easy to carry. Quality is excellent. I also love reading their articles on set-up tips.
