Street Studio: Revolve Restaurant | EP 10 | Tuvy Lemberg

In a world where creativity is often bound by the limitations of time and space, finding ways to adapt and innovate is essential. That’s exactly what the team at V-Flat World did when they brought their Duo Boards into the cozy kitchen of Revolve Restaurant in Lakewood, New Jersey, for a unique food photography session.

With COVID-19 restrictions reshaping how we interact and create, Street Studio's 10th episode took a delicious detour from the bustling city streets into the warm, inviting ambiance of Revolve. Instead of capturing candid shots of people, this episode focused on something equally captivating – food.

Shooting Food Photography with Duo Boards at Revolve

The new Duo Boards, designed specifically for food and product photography, were put to the test in this mouth-watering setup. With their versatility and stunning finishes, these boards proved to be the perfect backdrop for showcasing the culinary artistry of Michelin star chef Benjamin Deutsch.

Revolve fine dining, a hidden gem tucked away in a once-abandoned building, provided the ideal setting for this shoot. The restaurant's rustic charm, with its smokey tones and brick walls, complemented the savory dishes prepared by Chef Deutsch. As he crafted plates of braised beef carpaccio, chicken liver mousse, and churros, Tuvy Lemberg, founder of V-Flat World, captured the vibrant colors and intricate details with unique Duo Board pairings.

The boards were carefully chosen to enhance the visual appeal of each dish. The setup was simple yet effective: a Flashpoint Evolv 200 light bounced off a V-Flat, mimicking natural window light. This approach highlighted the textures and colors of the food, making each dish look as delectable as it tasted.

Chef Deutsch's creations were as much a feast for the eyes as they were for the palate. From the earthy tones of roasted beets and mushrooms to the rich, velvety chicken liver mousse, each dish told a story of flavors and traditions. And of course, no meal would be complete without dessert – crispy churros served with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream, a Revolve favorite.

This episode of Street Studio was more than just a food photography session; it was a celebration of creativity and adaptability. With the Duo Boards as their canvas, the team at V-Flat World showed how even in challenging times, it's possible to create something beautiful and delicious. Whether you're a food photographer or just someone who appreciates a good meal, this episode serves as a reminder that sometimes, the best shots are the ones you never planned for.
